Redress Design Award Collection

Ayu Dinda’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Woven from Ruins’, tells the story of a survivor piecing themselves back together after being shattered. Weaving, stitching, and reconstructing discarded materials mirror the act of mending identity, honoring the past without letting scars define the future. Discarded cords, uneven fabric scraps, and raw textures embody the struggle of breaking free. Ayu Dinda minimises waste with zero-waste patterning and factory-discarded materials such as leather, which she hand-molds into a dress, and jute sacks, which she upcycles into versatile, modular straps that can be attached multiple ways with a hook-and-eye system for a skirt’s customisable silhouette.
