Yanjie’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Breathless’, explores the relationship between space and people on a crowded subway. The collection embraces zero-waste knitting techniques to create seamless designs from factory leftover yarns, which are continuous to reduce waste from multiple yarn ends. Yanjie adopts modular designs with small, reusable sections to reduce leftover materials. Designing for recyclability, she selects yarns that can be disassembled and reused, giving them new life.
