Redress Design Award Collection

Meerim’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Nomad’, draws inspiration from the nomadic lifestyle of the designer’s Kyrgyz ancestors, blending the silhouettes of early 20th-century Central Asian tribes with contemporary elements such as a stitched-on draped pocket bag, adjustable waist, and a bubble hem on various trousers. The collection sources textile waste from factory surplus artificial silk and wrinkled jacquard, denim clothing samples, cut-and-sew shirting cotton, crepe, and pure wool, plus tweed and satin textile swatches.
