Redress Design Award Collection

Lili’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘KALOCSA’, is inspired by the designer’s Hungarian heritage, blending traditional folkwear and intricate embroidery with modern design. Made entirely from repurposed denim, the collection’s contemporary garments, including a zero-waste skirt, prioritise durability, minimise waste, and celebrate heritage with traditional Hungarian embroidery motifs. Lili’s fabrics are printed with water-based inks, avoiding chemicals and solvents, and uses heat to fix the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water.

REuniFORM

Redress Design Award Collection 2021

Lili’s Redress Design Award collection ‘REuniFORM’, focuses on tackling the large amount of waste that results from school uniforms. She reconstructs secondhand garments to transform them via patchworking techniques and quilting into elaborate, multi-functional and customisable high fashion garments that contradict the very notion of the uniform. Detachable pockets, frills and details increase the value and longevity of the garments.

Redress Design Award Collection 2018

For her Redress Design Award submission, Lili was inspired by the surface patterns of contaminated water and a desire to highlight the extreme environmental damage caused by denim dyeing processes across the world. For this thought provoking collection Lili reconstructs damaged and secondhand denim garments, creating surface texture through fabric manipulation to emulate waves in the water.
