Kévin Germanier

Redress Design Award 2014/15 1st Prize Winner

Meet The Designer

“For me, sustainable fashion is one way of expressing myself. It feels amazing to be able to create clothes and at the same time to protect the planet. As a young and passionate designer, it is very important for me to feel useful. Sustainable fashion challenges me and since I love solving problems, it matches my personality perfectly. I think sustainable fashion is only at the beginning of its real potential and I want to be a sustainable fashion designer in order to experiment, discover and share its unique aspects with others around the world. “

Bio

Redress Design Award 2014/15 First Prize winner, Kévin Germanier, launched his eponymous brand in 2018, which transforms discarded beads and other waste from the fashion industry into vibrant, upcycled couture with the aim to change the preconceived image of sustainable fashion by creating a glamorous, dazzling and desirable clothing line for modern consumers.

Germanier has gained international success, with the brand having had multiple sustainable collaborations with international brands including Christian Louboutin,, LVMH, UGG, Swarovski, and Sanrio to name a few, and closing Paris Haute Couture Week for the last few seasons.

In recent years Germanier has been commissioned to design costumes for the Paris Olympics 2024 Closing Ceremony and was Head of Costumes for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest in 2025. He has dressed multiple celebrities including Björk, Lady Gaga, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift, Sunmi and Irene Kim, and has featured as guest judge on Germany’s Next Top Model. Germanier has been International Judge for the Redress Design Award since 2023 and was named a 30 under 30 by Forbes in 2020, amongst the Europe — Arts and Culture category.

In 2015, following his Redress Design Award competition win, Kévin returned to Hong Kong to fulfill his prize – to work for three months with the Shanghai Tang design team to create the brand’s first luxury up-cycled collection, which launched in 2016. Before leaving to concentrate on his brand, Kévin worked as a junior designer at Louis Vuitton in Paris, where he currently lives. Kévin holds a degree in Fashion Womenswear from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in the UK. He is also an alumni of the LVMH Prize 2019 (semi-finalist) and the ANDAM Prize 2018 (finalist).
