Redress Design Award Collection

Rahul’s Redress Design Award collection, ‘Chakra – The eternal Circle’, pays homage to the sun god celebrated as the ultimate source of life in the Hindu festival of Chhath. The collection turns textile waste including end-of-rolls, cut-and-sew waste, sampling yardage, and a secondhand bedspread into everyday heirloom luxury pieces handcrafted in Bihar, India. Rahul designs for low impact by selecting undyed and unbleached cotton, including kala cotton, and adding buttons made from wild grass known as sikki. The garments are shaped with zero waste, with options for reversibility and mix-and-match layering for added versatility.
